2024's painted garbage can entries

The Garbage Can Design Contest is an annual competition where students paint garbage cans in an effort to help beautify the city!

Presented by TD, this contest is part of the Spruce Up St. Albert program, an annual clean up program that encourages resident participation in a variety of activities that ultimately keeps our community looking its best! The final painted garbage cans are placed around the city in our parks and neighbourhoods for all to enjoy!

This year's contest theme is “The Vital Role of Pollinators.” Did you know that there are thousands of pollinators in Canada? This includes butterflies, moths, beetles, flies, hummingbirds and over 800 species of native bees! These essential creatures contribute to the rich biodiversity of our ecosystem and help ensure an abundance of food supply.

Vote for Your Favourite!

From April 29 to May 10, 2024, residents can view one-of-a-kind designs and vote for their favourite. The contest winner will be announced on May 16, 2024! Voting is now closed.
