Cultivate the Conversation – What we Heard Report
Thank you to everyone who was involved in reviewing or providing input into this year’s budget survey. Public input is one important factor in helping inform Council decision-making.
There were 146 residents who completed the survey. Below is the age breakdown of those who completed the survey:
Service areas were captured in 8 broad categories and all participants were asked if they believed the City should maintain, reduce, or increase spending in those areas. If the respondent selected maintain, they were taken to the next category. If the responded selected reduce or increase, there was a follow-up question where they were asked to prioritize more specific areas of that category. For every category, the majority of respondents supported maintaining existing spending/service levels.
Council will review the detailed findings from the survey and consider the input gathered from other public and stakeholder engagement sessions to help inform decision-making. Deliberations will begin on December 2, 2021 and they are scheduled for final approval on December 21, 2021.
