Community of North Ridge Traffic Calming

Whether on foot, cycling or driving, we all have places to be and want to get there safely. North Ridge residents have reported road safety concerns and submitted them to the City with a Traffic Calming Application, and the neighbourhood has been confirmed as eligible for the Traffic Calming Program.

Traffic Calming is best suited to:

• Collector streets in neighbourhoods.
  (Collector roads move traffic from local roads and connect them to arterial roadways)
• Local roadways in neighbourhoods.

Why Your Voice Matters

For Traffic Calming to be considered, we need to hear from you as a resident or property owner in the neighbourhood! Your vote will help us determine if the majority of residents support implementing the Traffic Calming Program.

Participate in the Poll

Please complete the brief poll below and cast your vote for your household. This vote is to identify whether the majority of households in the neighbourhood desire and support applying the Traffic Calming Program.

NOTE: The survey is intended for residents of North Ridge. Only one vote per household is requested.

How Your Vote Will Be Used

Traffic Calming devices, such as raised crosswalks / intersections, curb extensions, speed humps or chicanes, are intended to slow the speed of traffic and improve pedestrian safety.

In order for the Traffic Calming Program to advance the following two (2) criteria must be met:

• A minimum of 40% of neighbourhood households must respond to the poll.
• A minimum of 55% of the responses received must “support” Traffic Calming.

The poll will close on October 4, 2024, at 5 p.m. Survey results will determine whether the Traffic Calming Program will move forward in North Ridge.
