Ville Giroux is a new community in northwest St. Albert, envisioned with a combination of commercial, mixed-use and residential developments. The community is designed with high walkability and includes a substantial centrally-located commercial area to support the day-to-day needs of residents.
The development of the Ville Giroux neighbourhood is directed by the Ville Giroux Area Structure Plan (ASP), approved in 2012 and amended in 2013. The ASP includes a total of 30 hectares, with a combination of parks, open spaces and trails alongside commercial and residential development. The Ville Giroux neighbourhood is projected to house 1,409 people when fully built out.
In 2020, the City approved the Ville Giroux Park Master Plan, which includes four neighbourhood parks: Versailles and Vandelor to the east, and two additional unnamed neighbourhood parks in the west.
The City of St. Albert is moving ahead with detailed design and construction of Versailles Park in 2021. Opportunities are available for you to learn more about the project and give the City feedback on the plans.
This short video provided will give you an overview of parks in Ville Giroux, including how we develop parks and the plan for Versailles Park.

Exciting news! The City of St. Albert is thrilled to announce the completion of St. Albert’s newest park space – Versailles Park. We invite you to stop by and enjoy the park, trails and the newly-completed fire-themed playground!
The splash pad area is still under some construction; please be respectful of the barriers and fencing in place to ensure we do not have any damaged surfacing when we turn on the water and open the splash pad in June 2022!
The City is also installing some temporary park furniture as we wait for the permanent furniture to arrive.
We’d like to thank the Cidex Group for their partnership in this project, as well as recognize the generous support from the Government of Canada through their Investing in Canada Infrastructure program.
Enjoy the new park! Versailles Park is located on Versailles Ave, just off Giroux Road.
