The City of St. Albert thanks all participants in the Alcohol in Designated Parks Spaces Pilot Program. This pilot has now ended and no consumption of alcohol is permitted in City parks at this time. The results of this pilot will be shared with Council for future decisions in spring 2022.

The City of St. Albert ran a pilot program to allow residents to responsibly enjoy alcohol at designated picnic sites in select St. Albert park spaces from September 1 to October 31, 2021.

Parks involved in the pilot were:

  • Kingswood Park
  • Lions Park
  • Rotary Park

    Thank you to those who submitted their thoughts and ideas about the Alcohol in Designated Parks Spaces Pilot Program. These responses will be used to determine future direction for the consumption of alcohol within St. Albert parks.

    The results from the pilot program survey have been compiled into this What We Heard Report and will be used to inform future public engagement on this topic and ultimately future decisions on whether a permanent program for alcohol consumption in designated park spaces should be permitted in St. Albert.
