Alcohol in Designated Park Spaces Pilot Program

The City of St. Albert is running a pilot program to allow residents to responsibly enjoy alcohol at designated picnic sites in select St. Albert park spaces. This pilot is running from September 1 to October 31, 2021.

Individual consumption of alcohol is permitted within the following parks between the hours of 11:00am and 9:00pm:

  • Kingswood Park
  • Lions Park
  • Rotary Park

Guidelines:

  • Consumption of alcohol is permitted at uncovered picnic tables as per the onsite signage.
  • Use of picnic tables is on a first come, first served basis and no bookings will be available.
  • Consumption within picnic shelters and during special events is prohibited.
  • Please consume within 25 meters of your picnic table and do not leave drinks unattended
  • Obey all onsite signage, laws and regulations. Smoking, vaping and cannabis use remain prohibited.

St. Albert parks are for the enjoyment of everyone; please respect others use of the park.

The City is seeking your experience with alcohol consumption in parks, your opinions and ideas on the pilot. This feedback will be shared with City Council to inform future decisions on the consumption of alcohol within St. Albert parks. Please complete the survey below.
