Council Remuneration Review Project

The City of St. Albert is committed to building our community to meet the needs of residents and businesses, further strengthening St. Albert.

As part of this work, the Council Remuneration Review Committee is undertaking a review to better understand City Council compensation that reflects the work and responsibilities Council assumes in their term of office. The Committee is completing a full compensation review, including per diems, benefits, parental leave and other factors that impact remuneration.

As part of the review, the Committee has researched municipal comparators conducted in-depth interviews with stakeholders, and is working to engage the City of St. Albert residents to inform recommendations regarding future City Council member compensation.

The Remuneration Committee is made up of five St. Albert residents who are acting arm’s length from Council, and will be presenting their findings back to Council for consideration this spring.
