Disc Golf Feasibility Study

The City of St. Albert is moving forward with a Disc Golf Feasibility Study that will help identify the potential for a 9- or 18-hole disc golf course within existing green spaces in the community.

Part of the study will help gauge the feasibility, support, and likely use of a disc golf course, as well as help understand the potential issues and challenges that the addition of this activity in our park spaces could pose.

The project will proceed through several stages of thoughtful analysis, starting with the identification of space/land criteria that best suits the sport of disc golf. These criteria will help identify sites and land parcels that could be suitable for disc golf and those that would not be able to accommodate this use.

Once the criteria for the successful addition of a disc golf course have been identified, the lands that satisfy the greatest number of the highest desirable elements will be pulled out for further analysis. A critical component of the study will centre around where we would host this activity without the displacement of current recreational activities already in place.

A public survey for the potential disc golf sites was available from August 6 to 20, 2021
