The City of St. Albert has received a request, compliant with the City's Municipal Naming Policy (C-CC-05), to rename municipal assets that contain the name Grandin. In addition to the name of the neighbourhood, these municipal assets are:
- Grandin Road
- Grandin Lane
- Grandin Place
- Grandin Ravine
- Grandin Pond
- Grandin Clubhouse
We are inviting your input to help shape this important renaming process! If Council decides to change the name, your feedback will guide the selection of names that reflect St. Albert's identity, heritage, and aspirations for the future.
Why It Matters
Renaming the Grandin Community and these assets is a significant decision that may affect not only residents of the area but the broader St. Albert community. Your input will help City staff and Council choose a name that aligns with our values, recognizes historical and cultural elements, and maintains a shared identity.
Council Decision Pending
No final decision has been made regarding the renaming of the Grandin Neighbourhood and other Grandin-labeled assets. City Council will review all public input, along with staff recommendations, before making a decision after careful deliberation.
