The new Kingsmeade Park is located in the Kingswood neighbourhood along Kingswood Boulevard.

The City gathered input from the community in 2020 and a concept design for Kingsmeade Park was completed.

In February 2021, a site amenities survey was conducted to help finalize the park design. You can find the final design on the side under key documents or in the video below.

The park will have a playground area, walking trails with interactive play elements, a boarded rink, multi-sport court area, open spaces for unstructured play, a social ice surface, an all-season social hub, and various trees and shrubs to complete the landscaped area. We are excited to move to construction in late Spring with the anticipation of some park amenities opening by the end of 2021.

This short video provided will give you an overview of the park design and introduce you to the Kingsmeade Park Playground options that were submitted through our playground tender process. A survey on the playground was open from April 15-22, 2021 to gather public feedback on possible designs.

We thank everyone who submitted their thoughts and ideas through the survey, and remember to click the Stay Informed button to the right to sign up for project updates.

    Thank you for your question.

The social hub at Kingsmeade Park will be a great place for residents to gather and keep warm under the picnic shelter that will have heating available in the colder months by a push button.

Firepits typically are found in our City Parks. The City is evaluating if firepits should be expanded to other park classifications.  Considering the increased risks and maintenance needs, it was determined not to include firepits at the Kingsmeade Park site and pilot the heating element in the picnic shelter instead.

We value your feedback and thank you again for your questions.
