October 1, 2021 update: The new playground is now open!
The City of St. Albert is redeveloping Dorchester Park playground in Deer Ridge along Giroux Road. Residents were invited to share feedback on the playground proposed design options through an online survey from April 28 - May 20, 2021.Feedback will help identify which play features are preferred and will be considered alongside:
Available budget
Sustainable maintenance requirements
Product availability
Project schedule
Contractor qualifications and experience
The scope of this program falls within the municipal repair, maintain, replace (RMR) capital plan. A guiding principle of this program is to replace "like for like" elements. Therefore, where possible the playground replacement design strives to include key play feature elements that are consistent with the original design.
We thank everyone who submitted their thoughts and ideas through the survey. Remember to click the subscribe button at the top right of this page to sign up for project updates.
