I would suggest we give law enforcement "anything they ask for" to keep them safe while protecting our community. If its body cameras or more police dogs or the latest in any equipment lets give it to them. The cost of not providing our full support is far greater. Just look at the number of RCMP alone who have been killed by the worst of our communities across Canada. The shooters all had far to many charges against them and yet the Courts/Judges let them out. St. Albert for the most part is a perfect community, just ask City Council to keep out the trouble makers including bad landlords and drug addicted trouble making tenants that don't deserve such a great City to live in.

Yes for their protection. There are so many volitile people that the Police have to deal with. Some of these are the "privileged" youth of this community!

yes for their own safety and protection given the one sided version of what happened the the news media is only to happy to exploit.

I think police officers should wear body cameras to bring to light how much they deal with on a regular basis.

Yes

Only for their own safety and protection.

Interetsing question about if police officers should be required to wear body cameras. These decisions are made are made at a Federal level not local. The expense vs value would need to be looked at closely but as a resident it would make me feel uncomfortable talking with a police or anyone for that matter when the entire thing is being recording. We dont have the same type and level of police corruption issues that are widely seen and showcased in the US media.

I believe it's important for leadership to provide its members with regular opportunities for professional growth in regard to objectiveness and professionalism. Most of the RCMP here are amazing but thoroughness and follow up is incredibly important. I also think there should be more proactive work done within the the schools. This is great for community engagement and ensuring our schools/grounds are safe.

The vast majority of St. Albert residents are extremely supportive of the RCMP and wish to see the officers engaged in community and youth activities. I believe the focus should be on property crime prevention and proactive policing of the high crime areas. The least concern should be traffic.
